DESCRIPTION:Get ready for Off Night Productions’ summer mainstage production of Hurricane Diane — a hilarious and thought-provoking eco-comedy by Pulitzer finalist Madeleine George — by learning more about one of the show’s central themes: native plants! \nHave you ever wondered what makes a plant native? Are all non-native plants invasive? How do native plants impact our local environment? Join us to explore common plants that are native and not native to Bloomington and learn how to identify what you have in your neighborhood. \nThis hour-long guided nature walk through RCA Community Park will be led by interpretive naturalist Kate Seader and will feature members of the Spencer Pride’s Rainbow Birders. \nKate is ready to teach guests of all ages what a native plants is\, and help you discover what native trees\, shrubs\, and flowering plants might be growing in your own backyard yard. Spencer Pride’s Rainbow Birders will join us to talk about how the presence of native plants contributes to the health of Indiana birds.\nThere is so much to learn from this hands-on program\, and all attendees will receive a special prize! Registration required. \nPlease note\, Hurricane Diane is recommended for ages 13+ \nAccessibility Information: This walk will take place on paved trails that can accommodate guests using mobility aids.
