Iris Youth Group
Iris is the Spencer Pride Youth group intended for LGBTQ+ teens & allies ages 10-19.
We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 5-6 pm, at the Spencer Pride commUnity center. Our group has two youth Leads & one adult Coach, as well as several adult volunteers who help.
Our mission is aligned with that of Spencer Pride: To make Indiana a more welcoming place for ALL people. As a group, we work on projects to help others understand more about what it is like to be an LGBTQ+ teen. We also meet to provide a safe place for teens to gather, spend time, and have fun together. Iris Youth Group has been part of of Spencer Pride since May of 2017.
Participating youth do not need to be from Owen County; any south central Indiana LGBTQIA teen can participate.
