On Saturday, August 24th, Spencer PRIDE will be travelling to Ft. Wayne Pride! Participation in the 13th Annual Ft. Wayne Pride is an effort to reach out to peer pride events and spread information about Spencer PRIDE and our new Rural Pride initiative throughout Indiana. We also plan to have a lot of fun! Although Ft. Wayne is quite a distance from Spencer, we encourage everyone to take a road trip to see our booth and enjoy the pride festivities.
Fort Wayne Pride 2010 will be held July 23-24 at Headwater’s Park East and West (333 S. Clinton) in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. Ft. Wayne Pride is the second largest pride festival in Indiana and in 2010 the organizers of Ft. Wayne Pride expect a turnout of 5,000 people. Friday’s hours are 7pm-midnight and include Pride Idol, a beer tent, food, and some vendors. Saturday’s hours are noon-midnight and include vendors*, live entertainment throughout the day, food, beer tent, KidSpace, PLUSH dance party, volleyball tournament, cornhole tournament, and more. Spencer PRIDE will be a vendor on Saturday only, so we strongly encourage you to attend on that day.
The cost of admission for Friday is $3 and Saturday $5. 12 & under are free. The entire event is open to all ages. The 2010 Ft. Wayne Pride theme is Purpose*Presence*Pride and signifies a commitment to bringing change to the community through education and exposure.
