Spencer Pride

Director’s Corner – Judi

  • by

Each month, the directors of Spencer Pride will be bringing you a bit of themselves. This will be a way for the directors to share a more personal side with the community. The idea for this “Director’s Corner” was discussed at our annual retreat and it was agreed that much of what is known of the directors is through an email address or a photo in the commUnity center. Sure, some directors have developed relationships with the community, but we also have new directors who are also new to the community. We hope you enjoy getting to know a bit more of the directors of Spencer Pride.

Up next is Judi, the Fundraising Director!

Judi Epp
(she/her/hers)

Hi everyone! I’m Judi Epp, Director of Fundraising. Believe it or not, I do have a life outside of Spencer Pride.

I’ve been married for 3 years to Lucie. When people see us, they think we’ve been together for a long time. We’re relative newlyweds at 3 years. We were both widowed in 2017 after very long relationships. We are fortunate to have found each other.

We live on a small private lake west of Spencer. I’ve owned this house for 40 years. It has experienced many changes over those years. We’ve recently been doing extensive remodeling and I’m definitely over it! One more project to complete and then taking a break for a while to travel. Plans now include our annual Thanksgiving weekend at West Baden. Then in February, an Olivia cruise. It’s their 50th anniversary so lots of special things happening. Neither of us has been on a cruise before so it’s a new experience we’ll share.

Other miscellaneous information;

I’m 73 years old.

We currently have 3 dogs.

I love to read!

I love taking the boat on the lake to relax and get away from it all. It helps me put things in perspective.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago. I had a lumpectomy and various treatments and am now cancer free.

I wear sandals all year round unless it’s below freezing, or the snow is above the sole of my sandal.

I’m originally from Indy. I was a Southsider. We moved here permanently in 1997.

I’m pretty much an open book so if you want to know more feel free to ask.
