Spencer, IN – October 5, 2024 – The Spencer Pride Festival, held on October 5, 2024, was a resounding success, drawing record crowds and celebrating the vibrant LGBTQ+ community in the heart of Owen County, Indiana. This year’s festival, themed “Ready to Soar,” welcomed over 7,000 attendees from across the region, highlighting the importance of compassion, love, and community solidarity.

More than 150 vendors and sponsors populated the town square offering a dazzling variety of opportunities to connect, shop and celebrate. The Tivoli Theatre hosted live performances from local artists, including headliners such the Quarryland Men’s Chorus.  Open air performances were enjoyed as well, including the amazing Taiko Drummers, a perennial favorite.

In addition to entertainment, Bloomington’s WonderLab hosted WonderFest in the CommUnity Center Golden Ball Room. Children young and old were able to explore science and engineering through experimentation at the various booths provided by WonderLab.

“This year’s festival exceeded our expectations,” said Festival Director, Kate Gehringer. “We are grateful for the incredible support from local businesses, volunteers, and the Spencer community. The turnout shows just how powerful love and community can be.”

The Spencer Pride Festival has grown significantly since its inception and continues to serve as a platform for making Indiana a better place for everyone. The festival committee is already planning for next year’s event, aiming to expand programming and continue to increase accessibility.
