February Meeting to Continue Momentum

  • by

As winter continues to chill us to the bone, members of Spencer Pride, Inc. can take warm comfort in the many successes we’ve had in the past few weeks.  We plan to continue our momentum at our upcoming meeting. This month’s meeting will take place on Sunday, February 20th at the home of Amber, our WRV PFLAG President and dedicated Spencer Pride member.  She lives at 364 N. Park Ave. in Spencer.  It’s just a few blocks from the Presbyterian Church and is quite easy to find.  The meeting will start at approximately 5:00 PM, immediately following the White River Valley PFLAG meeting taking place in the same location at 4:00 PM.

This months’ agenda mostly centers around sharing our recent experiences following-up with local business and organizations to solicit their participation in the 2011 Spencer Pride Festival.

In addition to this important conversation, we also have the following items on our agenda: A Financial update provided by Jerry will include discussion of current account balances as well as an update about our application for Indiana Sales Tax Exemption.  Jacob will give a Food, Beverage, and Entertainment update.  Judi will provide details about our recent interactions with both theOwen County Council as well as the Spencer Town Board.  Jonathan will be seeking volunteers for the March 26th World AIDS Day event in Bloomington.  He will also be providing an update about the Hoosier Pride Network and our Corporate Solicitations, including providing more details about our recently announced Google Grant.  In addition, the group will discuss (& finalize) the 2011 Spencer Pride Festival theme.

As always, members will also be sharing their ideas for how to make the 2011 Spencer Pride Festival the local event of the year! If you are interested in sharing your ideas, please join us at Amber’s homel.  If you need directions or want further information, please e-mail us at or call Jonathan at 812-821-3073.
