DISCLAIMER: Spencer Pride is excited to see Mitch Teplitsky’s documentary film about our work move into production and its pending release. Please note that the film is being developed entirely independent of our organization, and as such, all proceeds raised for the film are managed by the film’s leadership team [in conjunction with another 501(c)3 non-profit]. Spencer Pride will benefit from a successful, well-received end product.
A documentary-in-progress about Spencer Pride by Bloomington filmmakers Mitch Teplitsky and Charles Pearce has made it to the final five for a $10,000 PitchDox award.
The film tells the story of Spencer Pride, the LGBTQ+ Center that’s helped bridge divides and revitalize a rural Indiana town. Filmmakers Mitch Teplitsky and Charles Pearce have nearly completed shooting and aim to release the film in early 2025.
PitchDox is a documentary film competition open to Indiana filmmakers. Spencer Pride is one of five films selected to pitch at the PitchDox Main Event on October 12th.
Immediately following the pitches, a jury and audience members will cast their votes — and anyone can cast a vote online from now until October 12th.
Producer-director Mitch Teplitsky is hoping readers will vote for Spencer Pride!
“We’re excited to pitch our film to the PitchDox team and the public,” said Teplitsky. “This award would help us complete the film and share it with the world as soon as possible. There’s a lot of interest in a hopeful story from rural Indiana, not only in this state but nationally.”
